My name is Jen, and I am a fiber-aholic. . . .

So, much fibery related goodness has been going on here in the last few days. I finally got back into spinning. Ah, my spinning wheel, I forgot how I loved thee:
Delicious!
Mmm, handspun.

The above yarn was spun from some roving I got from Fat Cat Knits. It's lovely. I am loving the way it turned out. I ended up with two skeins, and about 200 yards of a 2-ply. Slowly, slowly I am getting more yardage out of the yarn I spin. Ah, I am getting closer to sock yarn, I can feel it. :) I did start another spinning project (which I don't have a picture of, as Alex is sleeping on the couch, and I don't want to disturb him with the camera, but I digress). This project I am going to go with a 3 ply, as I know I will want my socks yarn to be a 3 ply. We'll see what kind of yardage I get this time.

I also finished up some knitting. I finally finished my Reclamation Scarf, Part II:
The Specs:

The Pattern: Reclamation Scarf by Stefanie Japel
The Yarn: Pagewood Farm Alyeska Hand Dyed Sock Yarn
The Needles: US Size 9
The Time To Knit: About three weeks of on and off knitting.
The Verdict: A quick easy knit. Mindless knitting for when you need that kind of thing. Beautiful result.

Another project off the needles. So what's a girl to do but cast on for another? With all this talk to Sock Summit, it seemed like socks were the obvious choice:
It's a Nutkin sock! I am knitting this out of STR Mediumweight in the Kaw Kaw colorway. Holy crap, do I love this sock. I don't think there will be second sock syndrome here. :)

Other than that, things are busy. Busy, but good. I have started toying with the idea of doing a podcast. I have been thinking about it for awhile, and I have decided that my obsession with knitting thus far has not gone quite far enough. Perhaps a knitting podcast is needed. I threw the idea out there to Alex today and he told me that he already had researched and comparison shopped microphones, because he had been thinking I should do one. I don't know though. Would people listen to me babble on about knitting for 20-30 minutes every two weeks? Would I be interesting or just sound blah? Hmm, so much thinking to do on this one.

Happy knitting (and spinning)!
