Oh, I want to show off my stash too!

Well, I have been patiently waiting for that coveted Ravelry invite. It could be coming soon, as the website tells me the following:

Found you!
You signed up on June 6, 2007
You are #7212 on the list.
557 people are ahead of you in line.
13130 people are behind you in line.
32% of the list has been invited so far.

This combined with Sarah taking pictures of her stash and Lisa mentioning to me that taking pics of the stash before getting the invite would make things easier, made me want to take the stash pictures. Plus, it is more fun than doing laundry.

Here is where the majority of the stash calls home:

My dad built the frame around the rubbermaid drawers. The plan was to stain the top and put some fabric around it to make it look all nice and pretty in my room. Yeah, I have had that thing for almost three years. :) I have way more knitting books than what is sitting on top of the drawers, but they are randomly scattered all over the apartment.

Then, I got the brilliant idea to do this:

All my STR yarn and other yarn that I am super excited about goes on the dresser in the basket from Target. That way, I can look at it and pet it and perhaps sniff it anytime I want. I put my knitting needles in the vase because they were always all over the floor and stuff and it is easy to store them there. And, I think it looks cool!

And, if you want to see the pics of the stash, just click here. I know I have some more yarn around here. There is a skein of Mountain Colors that I know I have not knit with, yet I cannot find. Damn knitting elves probably got it.

Anyway, that's all I have for now. I have not knit much this week, as I have been reading Harry Potter. I did finish last night. I am not going to talk about it, as I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I will say it was, I think, the best Harry Potter book. So so very good.

Happy knitting! :)

Your dresser looks lovely! I wish I had the organizational skills to pull off something like that...

We did just finished decorating our son's room for his birthday though, and I think it looks great! I'll post pics on my blog as soon as I get some taken. Only 3 more days until he's 6! My baby isn't a baby anymore!!! :((

And thank you so much for not spoiling the ending for me... I'm getting the book on Friday, so I have a bit of catching up to do. Is it really the best book? OMG I can't wait to read it lol!

  2. I really like how organized you are! Everything looks like it has its own place. I like the idea of having yarn out to display. (And pet!) I might have to steal the idea from you.

Also, I like the new format of the blog. Sometimes you just need a little change in life.

  3. I've got two red Rubbermaid cabinets in my bedroom. I got them on sale but hide them in my bedroom because they're...well...hideous looking. I like the idea of a frame around them and have some lumber just sitting in the basement, so...

I finished Harry Potter last night and also thought it was her best.

  4. Oh thank you thank you for not posting any Harry Potter spoilers!! I'm still re-reading book #6 so I will be totally up to speed. Do you know how hard it has been not to even open the package??? Argh!

You are ahead of me on the Ravelry list but I need to photograph the stash as well. Just seems like such a chore ....

  5. I am glad to see that I am not the only one with a crazy ammount of yarn! Before I started to track my yarn purchases, I would just buy, buy, buy and have ideas for it. The only problem being that when it came time to start a new project I would totally forget what I had planned on doing with it! I also like how you keep/display your needles in a vase...very clever!

  6. Cool vase for your needles!

  7. Okay, that's just too much STR for your own good.
Looks great! I'm glad I can spread the stash frenzy. You'll be in ravelry a little bit before me! I'm about 900 as of now.
