My First Pattern!

Today has been quite the day. I had the day off of work for yarn dyeing and other fiber-y goodness. Tomorrow should be much of the same. This morning I dyed a whole bunch of yarn (most of it will soon be making its way to The Yarn Stash):
After all that dyeing, I thought about taking a nap, but instead I worked on writing up the pattern for these:

It's the Faux Cable Socks I finished recently. I had been thinking about writing some of these sock patterns I have been doing down, and now I finally did it. And, can I just say, holy crap that is a lot of work. Mine is probably the worst sock pattern ever written and I was still sitting at the computer for hours trying to get it done (well, of course, Ravelry was distracting me a little bit).

You can get the pattern for free right here (it's in PDF form).

Please keep in mind that this pattern is free, and it is my first time writing a pattern. If you find any errors, please send me an email at jenATknittinglikecrazyDOTcom or you can message me on Ravelry (I'm knitlikecrazy).

Oh, by the way, the secret knitting project is actually almost done. If you are on Ravelry, you can see it. If you are not, that's good, because I don't want you to see it. :)

Happy Knitting!

  4. What a neat sock pattern! And no cable needles either!

It really is hard to write up patterns, isn't it? You have my total sympathy and empathy too.

Great job on the socks and the pattern! I just printed it out and they will be the next socks I knit. Thanks so much for sharing the pattern with us.
