Book Giveaway: Sew Red

A couple weeks ago, I was sent a review copy of Sew Red. I loved Knit Red, so I thought even though I do not sew, it would be fun to take a look at it.

There are so many beautiful sewing pattern in this book...it's making me want to run out, buy a sewing machine and learn to sew!
There are so many lovely quilts in this book. It was hard to chose a favorite.
The book also contains clothing and accessories. I think most people who sew could find a project that speaks to them.
Since I don't sew, I can't speak to the quality of the patterns, but I can say that the book has a beautiful layout and is spiral bound, making it very easy to use. I've looked at lots of books from Sixth & Spring over the years and the knitting pattern are always clear and well-written, so I suspect that this book would be made with the same quality and attention!

This book, just like Knit Red, benefits women's heart health. The book includes a section on "Heart Healthy Living" and includes some recipes!

So, since I don't sew (yet), I will be doing a book giveaway with this one! Yay! Just leave a comment telling me what your favorite thing to sew is. You know, so I can get ideas when I decided to take the plunge and start yet another hobby. Make sure you leave an email address or Ravelry ID so I can contact you should you win. I will be selecting a winner by random number generator on April 25th!

  1. I don't have a sewing machine yet, but I am saving up for a good one. I will start with bags and pillows, but I want to sew clothing.

  9. Well, I haven't progressed much beyond cushions so I really can't say what my favorite thing to sew is, but if I won this I'd share it with my grandmother as she often sews and she really loves sewing clothes (I have so many pretty dresses that she made me when I was a child) and she's getting into quilts now too.

Thank you for the chance to win!

  15. My favorite thing to sew currently... would probably be accessories(cowls, small bags, etc.) I'm still a huge newbie at sewing so I haven't tried anything impressive yet. Lol.
I would love to make a quilt, though. <3

  18. I am a fledgling sewer - learned as a teen but haven't sewed in 30 years and just now starting again. So I don't have many patterns or books but this one looks good. I would love to make that heart quilt.

I've been sewing since middle school. I made dresses for my girls, my best friend's wedding dress and clothes for myself. I currently like to make project bags and quilts.

I actually hand sew everything right now and I like it a bit more than using a machine, which I have used in the past. My favorite thing to sew is anything I have the fabric for. I plan on eventually getting enough fabric to make some dresses.

  25. Thank you for offering the book as a giveaway! Lately, my favorite things to sew are curtains because I need them and they're easy, but my favorite things to be finished sewing are dresses, since they fit me so much better than store-bought ones.
